    1. This is less about the crime itself and the author s ability to deal with his trauma, and about glorifying gangsters that took justice into their own hands I m all for street justice in fiction hell, Batman is my favorite, but in reality This was also confusingly written I d be following one part of the story, only to jump directly into the gambling problem of some guy that hadn t been introduced A bit jarring, to say the least.Props to the author for writing this, but it could ve used some str [...]

    2. Congratulations to Keith Smith for having the courage to tell his story I have to say that while I do not know the author, we grew up in the same town around the same time which made the story even interesting to me I do wish the author had shared a bit in the way of character development and his recovery over the years, but I understand that this is a very delicate, and deeply troubling topic.

    3. I wanted much background on all the characters, good and evil, in this gripping, suspenseful story There s a dreary sameness among child rapers, but the other Men In Smith s Town, including Smith himself, are intriguing enough to merit screen time The author could have filled out the story without slowing things down Instead, he opted for an unsatisfying short story spareness There are also many verbal mistakes that knock it down from a 4 plus.

    4. This was a compelling novel based on the actual attack of Kevin Smith While it didn t deal with his emotional recovery, which is what I was looking for, it was an interesting fictionalized account of community involvement.

    5. The first two chapters really drew you in but the next few were confusing although it got back on track and had a satisfying ending cant say good due to the subject matter. There were a few sections that were overly descriptive.Good on the author for being brave enough to share such an experience
