I can t help be amazed at the gifts God has delighted me with a wonderful husband, four amazing children, and the opportunity to write for Him.I ve been writing as long as I can remember I won my first book writing contest in first grade Over the years, writing has become, for me, a way to praise God and see Him at work in my life.Although I have a degree in Mass Communications from the University of MN, my real writing experience started when I penned the The Warren Report a bi monthly newsletter that detailed our ministry highlights.Living in Russia meant I never lacked for great material and those experiences naturally spilled out first into devotionals and magazine articles and finally into my first published story, Measure of a Man, in the Tyndale HeartQuest, Chance Encounters of the Heart anthology.Susan and husbandI grew up in Wayzata, a suburb of Minneapolis, and became an avid camper from an early age My favorite fir lined spot is the north shore of Minnesota it s where I met my husband, honeymooned and dreamed of living The north woods easily became the foundation for my first series, The Deep Haven seriessed on a little tourist town along the shores of Lake Superior I have to admit I m terribly jealous of Mona, the heroine of my first full length book, Happily Ever After, a Christy Award Finalist published in 2004 with Tyndale Heartquest. Our family moved home from the mission field in June 2004 and now we live in the beautiful town I d always dreamed of God has amazed me anew with His provision, and blessings and allowed me a season when I can write full time for Him.I m delighted you ve stopped in to visit My hope is that you ll be blessed and encouraged by soul stirring stories of regular people interacting with a God who loves them.I d love to hear from you I love getting mail, especially from readers and I welcome your questions and comments Write to me at susan susanmaywarren And, if you re interested, sign up for my newsletter, a quarterly sneak peek into upcoming releases and projects Thank you for your interest and support.God Bless and Happy Reading In His Grip,Susan May Warren

    1. Both of these stories were really good I liked how they both contained a character who was famous and trying to hide out for their safety Even though these were both novellas and the characters had to get to know each other a little quicker than in a full length novel, I liked the relationship development that occurred in each.In You Don t Have to Be a Star, the two main characters have great romantic tension between them Luke is a great protector and is drawn to MacKenzie, however, he is really [...]

    2. You don t have to be a starThis was a cute novella, where the romance grew fast and the action even faster.I m not usually an insta love fan, but the romance between Luke and Kenzie was cute and sweet Luke also had to deal with past issues which added depth to the story.Once upon a princeThis was such a cute re telling of snow white I didn t know it was a retelling and at one point was this reminds me of snow white.Enjoyed both of these stories.

    3. You Don t Have to Be a Star by Susan May WarrenA Prequel to the Montana Fire Series Former Green Beret Luke Alexander just wants to forget his past and mind his own business in the woods of east Tennessee And his park ranger job seems just the solution until a diva movie star walks into his world looking for someplace to hide But the Cherokee forest isn t big enough for the both of them, not if you include the trouble MacKenzie has dragged along behind her And soon she s stirring up his own murk [...]

    5. Susan May Warren never, ever disappoints Even though this was a novella, it seemed like a full book She creates such wonderfully believable characters and settings and plots that her reader is never disappointed and is totally engaged in the story from page 1 I loved every minute.

    6. Enjoyable introduction to new series I do not always find main characters fleshed out in novellas however, both Warren and Williams manage to do so I am looking forward to reading in both of these series.

    7. I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. You Don t Have To Be A Star Susan May WARRENMacKenzie is a Hollywood Starlet who wants to be taken serious by being offered better roles, instead of the action role she s been playing Hayes O Brien 006 Her ex Nils just won an Oscar and walked the Red Carpet with his hot girlfriend MacKenzie made her ex what he is today, an Oscar winning actor Without her, he wouldn t be a star Oh, and her luck just seems to be getting bet [...]

    8. Oh my what a wonderful book Two stories by two wonderful authors that is filled with lots of mystery, suspense, faith and love The first story, You Don t Have to Be a Star, by Susan May Warren takes you from LA to the mountains in East Tennessee MacKenzie Grace is best known as an actress who plays Hayes O Brien 006, but actually she s just a girl from North Carolina who wants to make a difference MacKenzie is recently divorced from Nils Bruno When a bomb explodes in her Malibu home her agent fe [...]

    10. Two short and sweet romance stories, by two different best selling authors, in one edition, that conveyed the message that love can be found in the most unexpected of places I took from both of them how people shouldn t let their pre conceived ideas of what they re looking for blinker them In You Don t Have o be a Star, movie star Kenzie is being stalked and her agent sends her to the the wilderness to hide out until the stalker is captured, under the watchful eye of ex military man Luke, who is [...]

    11. 3.5 stars Reviewing 2 completely separate books in 1, is not really a fair way to go about it, but for some reason they were sold as one, and the only way to review them is together Susan May Warren, is reliable as an author to me I love her books, and this one is no exception I would give it 4 stars alone The prequel of her next series, Montana Fire Series, You Don t Have To Be A Star starts out unexpected, but I like that Unpredictability in a plot, with well written characters, with personali [...]

    12. Both novellas were really sweet You Don t Have to be a Star has a little action to it because MacKenzie almost gets killed because of a stalker And then once she is in Luke s protection, there s a reporter who relentlessly pursues Luke and makes things dangerous for them both Once Upon a Cowboy starts with a shooting and Princess Alessandra is haunted by her bodyguard sacrificing himself for her Gideon is such a grouch when they meet and then realizing by protecting her can be endangering his f [...]

    16. I really enjoyed both these books from fantastic writers I hope to see by both of them The first book focuses on a famous actress who needs to disappear for awhile so her agent sends her to the backwoods of Tennessee where his cousin lives It was such a fun story This actress has to go from the high life to living without anything familiar and the cousin is a former military guy who has some issues of his own I loved their interaction The second story was about a princess who escapes an assassi [...]

    17. 18. I really like Susan s books especially like Deep Haven based stories but a series in Montana is the next destination Actually this novella was set in California n Tennessee Luke had been to Montana and been part of the team at Jude County Smoke Jumpers like Darek n Owen from Deep Haven connection and Jed soon to be book Kensie n Luke s story was romantic, had mystery who the villain is, n the issues of media n what they focus on also about care for our parents, at times we have heavy decisions t [...]

    20. These novellas are romantic, fun, and utterly engaging I loved both of them I m always impressed when an author can write a novella that doesn t feel like a novella, like things have been skipped over or fast forwarded because of the shorter length I felt like both of these authors did a wonderful job at creating complex, endearing characters and plausible, suspenseful plot lines Susan May Warren is one of my favorite authors I always enjoy her writing Lacy Williams was a new one for me It was n [...]

    21. I m going to be brutally honest I don t like novella s they usually leave me feeling less than satisfied They are either to rushed or don t make sense, but I took a chance This was incredible I am so happy I picked this one up on a whim The characters were so complex and built with true emotions that you really connected and this was for both books in this combo The element of suspense was perfectly entwined that it kept you gripped to the edge of your seat I love the inspirational aspect as wel [...]

    22. Two great stories in one book You Don t Have to Be a Star is another excellent work by Susan May Warren It has some drama and mystery and touches on the struggles that many of our veterans deal with Yet I would still consider it a lite read Totally enjoyable Once Upon a Cowboy is also an excellent work It too deals a little with some of the emotions that our veterans struggle with but you still get that wonderful dreamy happy ever after feeling as you finish it.Both of these are prequels to new [...]

    23. Two stories, to great reads You Don t Have to Be a Star displayed Susan at her best fun storyline, with sweet romance, twists and turns and just the right amount of Christianity It s a prequel to a new series, yet not in my opinion.Once Upon a Cowboy was a unique blend of modern fairytale and the increasingly popular princess in real life storyline I particularly loved that nothing was forced the reference to Snow White was subtle It was only after I finished that I could see the slight referenc [...]

    24.
