When I m not writing books with Sandy, I can usually be found on a film set, where life is anything but dull I ve hung off the side of Toronto s CN tower, faced down a Grizzly bear, danced with Gregory Hines, and shared a beer with Ireland s Lord Guinness. In 2003, Panavision Canada recognized my camera skills with the coveted Woody Award It s an honor Really. And to think I almost became a cop Fortunately for the citizens of Toronto, I flunked the psychological profile Then, there was my brief stint as a bank manager, but I don t want to dwell on that.Better to dwell on the restaurant job where I met the man who became my husband I was the bartender he was the busboy It s still a perfect match I get to call the shots and he cleans up after me More importantly, he cleans up after our schnauzer, whom we affectionately describe as a four bagger Note Dog owners, you know what I m talking about here.I am a tea granny and a home d cor magazine junkie I play the piano, although I don t own one I own two guitars, although I don t play them I sing to my dog, wear fleece even in summer, and never miss an episode of Coronation Street.I could go on, but my tea is cold And let s face it, you probably stopped reading after I mentioned the Woody Award.

    1. I loved this book It was filled with laughter, wit, romance, mother daughter bonding and charm It s about Leigh her middle name as Vivien is apparently lame , a 15 year old teen, who is sent to bond with her mother, Anika Anderson a B list actress, in Ireland off the filming of Danny Boy Probably the best part of the book is the characters I ve never felt that an author could capture a teenagers thoughts so perfectly Leigh had the charm, wit, sarcasm and angst all perfectly balanced Her comeback [...]

    2. This is an amazing book, but not just because it has romance, tears, laughter, culture of an Irish nature, relationship building, and much much It is because it touches the reader personally There are so many characters that you can love and hate but it is extremely fun doing both It all starts in the summer when Leigh is sent Ireland to a movie where her mother known as the woman that left Leigh and her father for a not so great acting career is playing the leading lady Leigh starts off on wha [...]

    3. the 15 year old Vivien who prefers Leigh is becoming too moody for her father to handle, so he ships her off to summer with her mother in Ireland on the set of her new movie Danny Boy While confronting her issues with her mother who left her 12 years earlier, Leigh gets a small part in a movie and realizes she may have in common with her mother than she thought Overall, Leigh was a likable character in this introductory novel and her growth was admirable ASong The Pogues and The Dubliners, The [...]

    4. This book is actually about a girl who is 15 years old.Her mom is a struggling actress and lives away from Leigh. When Leigh starts to drive her dad crazy, he decides to send her to another country with her mom where she is filming a movie. It takes you thru the struggles of daughter mother relationships with some fun added to it.It was fun to read and quick I recommend it to anyone over 12, even adults

    5. This was a cute, enjoyable read that plays into the melodrama of a teenage girl s life The plot line is pretty contrived and predictable but your average girl will eat this up With an incompetent parent, cute boys and an overseas location, there s a lot for female readers to love about this book Great brain candy.

    6. I liked this book The main character Leigh, 15, fires her father because he sent her off the Ireland where her mother was working Mom is not exactly mom material The relationship between mom and daughter gets better, but you must read the book to find out.

    7. This book is about a daughter of a diva Her mother id a famous diva, everybody likes her, but she is nothing like her mother.

    8. I really liked this book It was funny, relatable, and flat out just a good read I will definitely be reading farther in this series.
