Lots and lots of post it notes added to this book which translates to lots and lots of ideas to ponder and investigate Although geared mainly to the classroom teacher, much of the thinking can be easily adapted to after school or lunch programs, clubs and library settings I m excited about the Maker movement and how I can incorporate bits and pieces of it into my students and staff s learning mindset.

It s a nicely done practical guide to Maker Education, geared towards teachers and enthusiasts of the idea, in the context of public or private schools in the US It does a decent job in introducing the various technologies and tools to rookies which seems to be their target audience What I found most useful was really the comprehensive list of websites, resources, books, programs that can be accessed by anyone to really delve into the Maker culture for educational purposes.

As a STEM teacher, I thought this was a great book I really enjoyed the first half the history behind the education of making and the philosophies The second half of the book delves into lesson ideas and resources As with any book about technology and implementing technology, it feels void as soon as you purchase it Things are constantly changing and so I am skeptical as to the number of resources listed in the book that are still readily available.
