    1. 1890 Just recently, Kipling s horror stories were recommended to me This one is quite excellent The mark of the beast here has nothing to do with Satan It s a bit literal than thatSome wealthy British men in India are out late at a party One of their number gets falling down drunk, and two of his associates take it upon themselves to get him home However, on their way, the drunk man gets aggressive, and before his friends can stop him, in a move of total douchebaggery he intentionally desecrate [...]

    2. I had no idea that Kipling wrote horror I went into this expecting something akin to his Jungle Book or Just So Stories and ended up with something about the perils of desecrating religious spaces and was pleasantly surprised.

    4. This short story by the same of author of Jungle Book, tells a somewhat spooky story of the consequences of disrespecting deities I enjoyed reading it, and I believe those who are interested in stories about other gods or religions will enjoy the slight references to Hinduism in this short story.

    7. An awkward story told through awkward writing The writing seemed choppy, and the language forced The storyline wasn t something worthy of a short story I never reached a point of interest.
